Media Masters Workshop: Learning how to think critically about media

31.07.2025.

As part of the ongoing promotion of the Media Masters project, we recently held an interactive workshop session where participants got to explore and play the Media Masters game together. The event brought together a truly multicultural group of students from around the world  including participants from France, Spain, the US, China, Morocco, Italy, and more.

This rich diversity led to insightful exchanges and unique perspectives on topics such as media narratives, misinformation, and social issues explored in the game.

The feedback we received was incredibly valuable. Not only was the experience engaging and enjoyable, but it also helped us identify clear areas for improvement to make the game even more impactful and inclusive.

Instituto Ikigai also led a broader collaboration with the Asociación de la Prensa de Aragón (APA), a key journalism organization in Spain. Thanks to their support, we held two workshops in Zaragoza, one with 22 journalism students and educators, and another with 19 high school students. APA’s involvement allowed us to test Media Masters in both educational and professional media training environments, reinforcing its potential as a meaningful resource for future journalists and educators alike. We reached over 50 participants through these events.

Our workshop was a promising step forward for Media Masters as an educational and playful tool to spark critical thinking and connect people across cultures.
